These photographs illustrate various ways of welcoming visitors. Many portray hotels that meet the primary need for accommodation; others depict spaces for catering, socializing, leisure. All of them are dedicated to things that make travel a possibility and a pleasure – something that has been drastically limited by the global pandemic at time of writing. I hope to be able to travel again in the near future, ideally spending longer in the places I visit, allowing myself the luxury to explore, observe, communicate and share.
Tourism and travel promotion projects are something I particularly enjoy and my previous experiences in the field have been very fulfilling. These commissions typically involve photographing local attractions and culture (see also Landscapes and Postcards, Worth a thousand words, People I’ve come across) as well as hotels and other tourist facilities. I am open to accepting more commissions like this in the future.
